Earth Repair & Conservation

TSG’s Conservation & Earth Repair team are focused on activities that promote responsible, innovative and sustainable use of (and relationships with) our critical natural resources. Through our ideas and actions we hope to encourage protection and enhancement of what underpins our survival and well-being- clean air and water, functioning ecosystems and rich native biodiversity.

Current Projects

Cool Country Conservation Forum

In the planning stages, this event will bring local environmentally-focused groups together with the aim of celebrating our achievements and sharing experiences of the work we do to protect and enhance our natural resources and biodiversity. Alongside TSG, this includes Friends of Trentham Creeks and Reserves, Trentham District Landcare and Wombat Forestcare. We will invite the broader community to hear from each group and participate in a discussion to generate more knowledge in the community, and build stronger networks to help us advocate for earth repair and conservation for the benefit of all.

Trentham Carbon Forestry Project

Focused on developing local private purpose-grown-woodlot resources in the Trentham area the goals of the Trentham Carbon Forestry Project are to develop locally grown, processed, and sustainably managed wood resources with positive impacts in terms of biodiversity and carbon sequestration.

The project aims to activate existing small plantations as sources of firewood and timber, as well as leveraging carbon sequestration programs to establish new plantations in the Trentham area for future supply.
